Once the totes are out grab the kids! This makes a big difference in the kids attitude for me when we minimize carseat time. The handles make it convenient to carry both at once. While the kids are still running around the house grab your two CleverMade totes and put them in the trunk. In the Tahoe Cooler I put cool drinks, snacks and fruit. I put in the change of clothes in the SnapBasket first, then the wipes and diapers, then the trash bag, next I put toys, then sunscreen, last the towel. When you arrive at the beach the first thing you will want is a towel to sit on, so put that in your SnapBasket very last. Change of clothes for the kids (usually PJS since I go in the evening)ĭon’t just throw everything in, pack in order.Beach towels (one to sit on and one or two for drying off).Fruit (I opt for messier healthy snacks for beach days as a opposed to easy mess free snacks).Get yourself dressed! Once you have snapped these into shape and gotten dressed you are ready for step two. Then get the kids in swimsuits and shoes. Snap your CleverMade tote and cooler open so they are ready to go. It is very similar to the SnapBasket since it is collapsible and can be stored completely flat. Pull out two CleverMade totes, a SnapBasket and a Tahoe Cooler. My beach day packing hacks make it so we can get out of the house relatively quickly, minimize mess, enjoy our time at the beach, and make it home in one piece with very little cleanup. I am not going to say we avoid all meltdowns – but at least I am not the one having them. In recent days I have developed what I call my ‘easy beach day action plan’ to combat the stress of getting out of the house with three little kids. The drive is far and packing for the beach can be a bit of a nightmare with kids. We don’t get to the beach nearly enough, even though it is definitely our favorite place to play.
